Meet our diabetes educator, Denise Schue RPH, CDE. She is a pharmacist with special training to help you learn about diabetes. She is a board certified diabetes educator and a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, as well as the Northern Indiana Association of Diabetes Educators. Are you having trouble with monitoring your blood sugar? Are you new to diabetes? Do you have diabetes and need a refresher? Do you have a special need? The Pill Boxs goal is to empower the diabetic with the knowledge they need to make life-saving changes and choices regarding their diabetes. Our Basic Diabetes Education Program is geared for someone new to diabetes or someone who needs a refresher. Time is taken to individualize your program to meet your needs. It is 4 one hour sessions and covers the basic topics of diabetes. Most often your physician will write a prescription to receive services. However, you can also call the Pill Box and ask about attending the program. Please feel free to call with your questions. Sessions are by appointment. Diabetes Medication Injection Administration Instruction is a class designed to teach the proper techniques for drawing up, measuring and injecting medications subcutaneously. Protocols for testing blood sugars, recognizing and treating low blood sugars and proper needle disposal are discussed. It is a single one-hour session. Please feel free to call us with your questions. Sessions are by appointment. Many insurances and HMO’s cover some or all of the education program costs. At this time, we are not able to bill Medicare, nor supplemental insurances for education services. Specialty Products from the Diabetes Shoppe The Diabetes Shoppe is now located at the Warsaw Pill Box. We carry a complete line of specialty products.
